2024 GMC Yukon Interior, Price, Changes

2024 GMC Yukon Interior, Price, ChangesThe 2024 GMC Yukon competes in the full-size SUV segment against other well-known models in the group, like the Nissan Armada, Ford Expedition, and Chevrolet Tahoe. There are three available powertrains, so not all trims are created equal. The MSRP of the GMC Yukon ranges from $55,000 for the base model up to $92,150 over five trim levels.

The 5.3L V8 base engine produces 355 horsepower and 519 pound-feet of torque. The GMC Yukon has an 8,300-pound towing capability with this engine. Additionally available is a 6.2L V8 engine with a 420 horsepower output. A 3.0L Inline-6 Turbodiesel engine with a 277 horsepower output is also an option for the GMC Yukon. Both engines come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2024 GMC Yukon Redesigned

In terms of aesthetics, the most recent GMC Yukon outperforms the model it replaces. Because of the larger grille and unique headlamps, it has more presence than before. LED technology is standard for all models’ headlamps, fog lamps, daytime running lights, and taillamps. The base model only features 18-inch alloy wheels, whereas the other models in the series have larger 20-inch ones. Red recovery hooks and a performance front skid plate can be found on the tough AT4. The Denali comes standard with a panoramic power sunroof, and most other trims, including our AT4 tester, have it as an option. The Denali also has a distinctive grille, and bodyside moldings finished in satin chrome.

In particular, the Yukon AT4 has a highly appealing exterior appearance. Our Satin Steel Metallic tester ($495 option) came with the $8,650 AT4 Premium Plus Package, which includes an adjustable air suspension, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and power-retractable aid steps with excellent LED perimeter lighting. However, there has lately been a discount on this bundle. We would have loved a pair of winter tires at this time of year, but the 20-inch aluminum wheels with Carbon Grey Metallic highlights came wrapped in all-terrain tires. Overall, this SUV looks appealing and blends well at a top-notch ski resort.

A 12.0-inch digital gauge display and a new infotainment system are now standard on the 2024 GMC Yukon, a minor interior modification from earlier models. The dashboard is coated with soft-touch material, and the interior materials are more premium. All of the controls and buttons have a chrome finish. All rules are symmetrically situated, and the steering wheel is buttery smooth. Although the front seats have plenty of room, taller people may have trouble getting in and out of the car.

Eight people can fit in three rows of the 2024 GMC Yukon. A 40% increase in the overall room has been made for the vehicle. Genuine leather seats are an upgrade option from the standard cloth ones. Long drives are made very comfortable by the seats. Both the driver and the passenger can spread out comfortably on the armrest. Three adults might fit in the area toward the back. There is enough room for your kids in the third row, while the space for adults is a little less but still more significant than in most SUVs. In terms of the infotainment system, each GMC Yukon comes with a floating 10.2-inch infotainment display. The display is of high quality, and there is no screen glare problem, even in direct sunlight. On the screen are seven USB and auxiliary ports and HD and satellite radio.

GMC chose to stick with pure displacement and natural aspiration for the two V8s rather than downsizing and forced induction. These are well-known engines that are also in the Chevrolet Tahoe. The smaller 5.3-liter V8 generates 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, but you must rev it up to 4,100 rpm to reach that maximum torque level. The 6.2-liter V8’s greater 420 horsepower, and 460 lb-ft of torque give it a distinct advantage off the line and during overtaking maneuvers at higher speeds. Even though the 3.0-liter turbocharged Duramax inline-six only has 277 horsepower, it is known for its 460 lb-ft of torque, delivered at just 1,500 rpm.

Every Yukon comes with a smooth, responsive 10-speed automatic transmission, regardless of the engine option. Compared to the six-speeder utilized for the previous generation of Yukon, this gearbox does a far better job of maximizing the lower outputs of the smaller V8. Unfortunately, the oil burner, which would probably serve this trim the best because the torque kicks in early in the rpm range, cannot be installed in the AT4.

2024 GMC Yukon Date and Price

The GMC Yukon costs $52,100 MSRP for the SLE model with the 5.3-liter V8 engine and 2WD. The SLT costs $58,900 with the same powerplant and gearbox. A Duramax diesel engine substitution costs $845 more for the SLT and $895 more for the SLE. Add $3,000 to the cost if you want 4WD. With standard 4WD and the 5.3-liter V8, the AT4 starts at $66,600. An additional $2,440 is needed if you choose the 6.2-liter. The top-tier Denali retails for $70,000 with 2WD, and a further $3,000 will be added for 4WD. The manufacturer does not specify the cost difference between the available engines on the fully-equipped model. All of these costs do not include a $1,695 destination fee. A fully loaded Denali GMC Yukon could cost more than $95,000.
