All New GMC Terrain 2024 Model, Redesign, Specs – The GMC Terrain 2024 is a crossover SUV that is the entry-level option in GMC’s 2024 lineup of pickups and SUVs. It is a versatile crossover SUV that can replace the family station wagon function of cars like the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Toyota RAV4.

All models, from the base SLE to the top-of-the-line Denali, now come standard with a new front fascia and LED headlights. The AT4 comes standard with all-wheel drive and a front skid plate, while the SLT and AT4 can benefit from the addition of a surround-view camera system and a head-up display thanks to the availability of the Tech Package.

In the vanguard of fashion, ultra-sleek. Differentiating from GMC’s larger trucks and SUVs, the GMC Terrain 2024 features a massive grille and C-shaped headlights that set it apart from the competition. While its exterior is tough, its interior is as elegant as it gets for a crossover (right down to the floating roof).

Woodgrain accents and leather seating on the base models are a classy contrast to the Denali’s high-tech touchscreen and toggle transmission interfaces. Still, Denali’s laid-back demeanor remains the same regardless of trim level.

The GMC Terrain 2024 is powered by a 170-horsepower turbo-4 and a 9-speed automatic, which are significant reductions from the prior powerful engine options.

The Terrain has a comfortable ride and is easy to steer, but the optional all-wheel-drive technology is outdated and should be passed up. After all, its intended use is in a car, not on foot.

If you don’t want to use the optional hydraulic tailgate, the GMC Terrain 2024 has a load capacity of 29.6 cubic feet; with the second row folded down, that number rises to 63.3 cubic feet.

Since the Terrain’s inadequate headlights and marvy rear-end design make it difficult for the driver to see what’s behind the car, the IIHS does not recommend it. Automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and a camera system that lets you see everything around the Terrain are only available on the highest trim levels.

Interior Design

The Terrain’s length of 182.3 inches is significantly less than that of its predecessors. With a wheelbase of 107.4 inches, this car has plenty of room for four average-sized adults.

To make the most of the Terrain’s roomy hip room, the front seats were redesigned (54.4 inches). Long rides are comfortable thanks to the electrically adjustable front seats with prominent bolsters. A more extended base to the core, though, would have been welcome.

Most models now feature heated leather seats instead of cloth ones. While the rear bench seat can only fit two average-sized adults across, there is still ample leg room for even the tallest passengers at 39.7 inches.

The bench seat in the back does not have any padding and is flat and shapeless. The trunk space, however, can be increased from 29.6 to 63.3 cubic feet by folding down the rear seatbacks.

The GMC Terrain 2024 comes standard with a push-button transmission, a roomy center console, and attractive trim, while the Denali Terrain’s premium fittings are the real show-stoppers.

Engine Performance

Without its 252 hp turbo-4, the GMC Terrain 2024 is noticeably slower than it was. The sole powerplant is a 1.5-liter turbo-4 that generates 170 hp and is linked to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Despite its robust 203 lb-ft of torque, the Terrain’s 3,449–659-pound curb weight slows it down.

It gets the job done for trudging through city traffic, but it’s not built for more than two people or for climbing severe inclines. Both the SLE and SLT come standard with front-wheel drive, but the AT4 and Denali provide all-wheel industry as an option.

The system is straightforward, with front-wheel drive as the default and an on/off switch for all-wheel purpose located in the center console. Because of this, it is cheap and not very efficient, but it still gets good gas mileage.

Despite the front skid plate and off-road-oriented design of the new AT4, the Terrain isn’t intended for extreme Terrain or towing (maximum rating of 1,500 lb). It has a tough look, but its refined ride and agile handling make it an excellent daily car. Whether you go for the standard 17-inch wheels and tires or the larger 19-inch wheels and tires of the Denali variant, the suspension will not let you down.
