2024 GMC Terrain SLT Engine, AWD, Price – There are several modifications to the GMC Terrain for the 2024 model year, including eliminating the base SL trim and the availability of a 2.0L turbocharged Inline-4 engine option. On top of all of that, there will be a brand-new AT4 model with a brand-new AT4 Tech Package, new front, and rear fascias, new exterior paint colors, new wheel designs, and new inside textiles and accents (reviewed separately).
FWD or AWD and a 1.5L turbocharged inline-4 generating 170 horsepower are standard across the board on the GMC Terrain. If you do not mind spending a little more, the inside is stylish and roomy. As a small SUV, it’s hard to argue with the car’s attractive look. A starting MSRP of $28,090 places the 2024 GMC Terrain directly in the crosshairs of Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, and Honda CR-V.
2024 GMC Terrain Redesign
The exterior of the 2024 GMC Terrain receives a minor update. New LED headlights and a new grille design have been added to the vehicle’s front end. LED taillights, new 18 and 19-inch wheel designs, and two new exterior colors – Marine Metallic and Cayenne Red – are included in the new AT4 model. The remainder of the GMC Terrain remains the same, including the lower body trim in black, the deep-tinted back window, the heated power-adjustable mirrors, the roof rails, and the foglamps (halogen). Roof racks, SkyScape motorized sunroof, side steps, and more options are available for the exterior.
With a wheelbase of 107.4 inches, the GMC Terrain has the most extended wheelbase of the group, making it the longest. In terms of height and ground clearance, the Toyota RAV4 has the greatest at 67 inches and 8.4 inches, respectively.
Interior
The infotainment system, upholstery colors, and inside trim are new for the 2024 GMC Terrain. Other than that, there are just minor alterations. There is enough room inside for five people. The driver’s and front passenger’s seats in the front row are individually adjustable in six different ways. The rest of the cabin features cloth upholstery and automated temperature control for only one zone. It has a heated 8-way power-adjustable driver and 6-way front passenger seats with perforated leather upholstery and dual-zone temperature control with separate rear vents. The heated steering wheel is standard equipment on the SLT model. The GMC Terrain’s payload capacity is 29.6 cu. ft. for 2024.
The inside of the 2024 GMC Terrain is spacious and comparable to the competitors. However, the 2024 Terrain has the least luggage space, with the Honda CR-V giving 39.2 cu. ft. A few new features have been added, but screen sizes of 7.0-inches on the SLE trim and 8.0-inches on the SLT trim remain the same. An integrated Amazon Alexa voice assistant and an optional Tech Package with a new heads-up display are now available for the SLT. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now included as standard features in the infotainment system.
Engine
The only engine choice for the 2024 GMC Terrain is the 1.5L turbocharged inline-four, generating 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. For the 2024 model year, the 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 is no longer available. There’s a 9-speed automatic transmission to get all that power to the front wheels, thanks to the 1.5L turbocharged engine. AWD is also an option for the vehicle’s powertrain. Driving and controlling the crossover are made easy by the 1.5L’s smoothness on the road and its ability to move the crossover forward. All-wheel drive is an excellent choice for smoothing out the occasional bump in the street and enhancing the overall driving experience. The 9.3-second 0-60 MPH time is even more impressive, which regular drivers will praise.
The Toyota RAV4 is the most powerful, with 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, a whopping 33 hp more than the GMC Terrain. The Mazda CX-5, which has 187 horsepower and a 0-60 MPH pace of 8.1 seconds, comes next behind the RAV4. With 190 horsepower and a 0-60 mph speed of 7.7 seconds, the Honda CR-V comes in last. The GMC Terrain is the slowest as far as 0-60 times go.
