2024 GMC Acadia AT4 Redesign, Colors, Interior – Since 2020, the three-row crossover market has been rising, and the GMC Acadia is the latest vehicle to join the ranks. The class is a three-row SUV with a strong engine, a gorgeous well-built cabin, smooth performance, and an attractive price tag. With its AT4 designation, the GMC Acadia is the most robust and off-road-focused variant in the lineup. If you’re looking at the many options available, it’s a no-brainer to pick up either the Preferred Package or the Trailering Package for $995. The AT4 is the best option because of the many features it shares with the SLT and its rugged look, a larger V6 engine, and standard all-wheel drive.
2024 GMC Acadia AT4 Redesign
Exterior
No aesthetic modifications have been made to the Acadia since the 2020 model year was revamped. With the update, a new LED headlight design was born, both forceful and attractive. The AT4 works excellent with a somewhat blacked-out interior. The front bumper is still relatively decent, a tad low for an off-road-centric trim. There is a lot of chrome on the grille, giving the crossover an intimidating appearance. The AT4 has 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires as standard equipment. Off-road performance is ensured by ample space between the wheel and the fender. To accommodate the all-terrain tires, the fenders have been widened a touch. Mirror-mounted indicators have a sleek design that complements the overall aesthetic.
At about 4,300 lbs, the Acadia AT4 is one of the heavier crossovers in the comparison and falls just short of the Traverse. Accordingly, the GMC is the most compact with a 193.4, 75.4, and 66.7-inch length, width, and height, which justifies the tight third row and the minimal cargo capacity on offer. There’s no doubt that a more extended wheelbase helps drive and makes the vehicle seem more stable.
Interior
The Acadia AT4’s cabin is simple to use, with all of the controls conveniently located within easy reach of the vehicle’s occupants. The door panels are covered with a very pliable material. On the top, there’s a soft-touch material and a leather finish with contrast stitching and a trim piece that extends from the AC vent. Contrast stitching on the armrest further enhances the crossover’s appearance. You can fit a water bottle in the door cubby.
As well as an infotainment screen and tactile controls, this dashboard area is home to the vehicle’s controls. The temperature controls are located in the middle of the dashboard and the gear changer. The 12V and USB connections are housed in a large cubby in the center console. Two cup holders, heated/ventilated seat toggles, and an AWD option are also included on the console. The large and plush armrest in the middle is a nice touch.
2024 GMC Acadia AT4 Engine
In addition to the basic 2.0L turbocharged engine, the GMC Acadia AT4 receives a 3.6L V6 that produces 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automated transmission. The V6’s acceleration is excellent, and it can reach 60 mph in only 6.1 seconds, with the quarter-mile completed in just under 15 seconds. The elevated driving position provides a dominating presence in the city, while the large side mirrors and windows provide excellent visibility. Additionally, there aren’t many blind spots in the cabin, making it easier to navigate the city’s busy roads.
Light and responsive steering on a curvy road assist in tipping the crossover quite swiftly around corners, thanks to the excellent input provided by the steering wheel. The rigid suspension settings help while driving aggressively and make the crossover feel quite confident and stable with minimal body roll. The suspension can handle some bumps on the highway effectively, but there is a noticeable rise in noise levels primarily attributable to its wheels.
